Training Scheme
Under this scheme we usually
have a doctor working with us for a year at a time to complete their
training as a GP They will usually have completed a minimum of three
years hospital work after qualifying.

The practice manager is responsible
for the overall smooth running and organisation of the practice and
would welcome any constructive comments from patients.
Receptionists/Clerical
Staff
The practice is very fortunate
in having an extremely loyal and dedicated team who are always available
to help you.
They need to ask you for
further details when you telephone or call in; this is to ensure that
they can assist you as speedily as possible.
Practice
Nurses
The practice nurses are highly
trained and qualified. They work closely with the doctors and are trained
to do an extensive number of procedures and tests, including blood tests,
ear syringing, cervical smears and injections.
Appointments with the nurses
may be made through reception.
District
Nurses
District nurses are attached
to the practice and visit patients in their own home when they are housebound.
This can be arranged through the doctors or practice manager.
Health
Visitors
Health visitors are also
attached to the practice and will advise on health care particularly
to expectant mothers, mothers with babies, and the elderly. The health
visitor is available without appointment to weigh your baby and give
advice.
Midwife
A community midwife holds
an antenatal clinic every week for any patient irrespective of the hospital
booked.
Community
Psychiatric Nurse
Offers appointments in the
surgery usually for a limited contract of sessions for counselling.
State
Registered Dietician
Offers dietary advice and
consultations within the diet clinic. Referral from the doctor is necessary.
Physiotherapy
The physiotherapist offers
appointments for a limited number of sessions. Referral by the doctor
is necessary.
